Creative - An Eternal Struggle

I stumbled into a conflict between two warriors while walking through a dark mist. They were both equal in stature and their features similiar to a point of indicating kinship, perhaps even sharing the same mother though to see how differently they were garbed led me to believe that they were certainly not raised as equals. One was garbed in humble and clean robes with a gentle face consumed by concentration but without a hint of anger. Their counterpart, on the other hand, was decked with jewelry and gems yet the filth that saturated their entire being indicated that this character was certainly a theif in some way or another.

I marvelled with the grace with which the kind faced champion deflected blow after blow from the filthy rogue’s relentless onslaught.

“Who are these strange characters?” I asked myself aloud.

I was surprised to hear a voice whisper in my ear, “They are Good and Evil. Good protects you from their counterpart’s malice. The moment Good falls or dares to strike back your world will be lost to Evil’s whims.”

“Then Good is doomed to fail; either by choice or by chance!” I gasped.

“Good can always be revived.”

“What or who gives Good such strength even when Evil is seems so tireless?” I asked.

“Only you are the one who restores Good.”

“Then who drives the Evil against me?”

“The same who empowers his opponent. These siblings will live on as long as you do.”

And with that last statement I awoke.
