Freedom is the only hope for a better tomorrow as without it humanity is doomed to stagnation and suffering. Freedom is the bestowed upon every concious creature that exists and yet the human race has discovered through its own intellect traps which are designed to limit or destroy this endowment. As we advance it is important that we encourage every factor that helps preserve this wonderful gift and guard it from those who would take it from us. Freedom rests on the shoulders of Democracy and Education.
Democracy is necessary in order to ensure that the people are represented and in control of their own destiny as opposed to being controlled by the whims of the few. Without it a society can be left misled and misinformed to the point of stagnation and yet completely unaware of its own potential; overpowering cries for freedom with “fight songs” and meaningless anthems learned through blind repetition.
Education is necessary in order to ensure that people have a capacity to preserve themselves and their community through effective communication and understanding of their fellow citizen and the world in which they live. Society is a composite entity built of individuals and as the individuals become less capable of preserving themselves so too will the society. A people unaware of what freedom is will find it difficult to realize it when they are enslaved by their whithered sense of reason.
The moment humanity forgets that it is the master of its own destiny that it has become truly enslaved and silenced.
